This Thursday we are hosting Crafter’s Night Out in all of our stores from 6 – 8 pm. For this workshop, we were inspired by one of our favorite summer pasttimes: flea markets! Some of our favorite market finds include vibrant oil cloth, unique vintage bottles and nostalgic black and white photos. These beautiful objects sparked our creativity and the result was the projects for this class. Join us to make colorful cards, tissue paper flowers and even etch a glass milk bottle! The retro style pieces in this class are fun to complete and easy to repeat for summer party favors, gifts, personal stationery and more. Find out more about the projects here.
Get in the flea market mood by checking out some of our inspiration. We hope to see you on Thursday!
This post is brought to you by Rebecca B., who creates our workshops. Here she tells you how she found the inspiration for our newest workshop, Indigo Card Making, happening Thursday, June 19.
My latest crush is on Indigo. I see it everywhere: clothing, textiles, home decor, ceramics, the list goes on. I wanted to combine it with my other love, paper, so I created the Indigo Card Making Workshop! With the stationery collection in this class I tried to capture some of my favorite forms of the trend: sun prints, Shibori dyeing, dip-dyeing, Ikat prints and mosaics. You can take a look at some of my Indigo inspiration on this Pinterest board:
This roll-up-your-sleeves class is such great creative playtime! Among the projects, you will learn how to create decorative paper with Shibori techniques that involve binding and dying paper with inkpads. Then you will use your beautiful hand-dyed paper to create stationery. One of my favorite aspects of the class is the “reveal” moments when you unfold the bindings to discover the Indigo pattern. Click here to learn more about the other projects in this workshop.
Classes are filling fast but many locations are running encores so be sure to call your local store if seats are sold out online.
This post is brought to you by Rebecca B., who creates our workshops. Here she tells you how she found the inspiration for our newest workshop, Geometric Decor, happening Thursday, April 24.
Two of my favorite trends at the moment are geometric patterns and gold-dipped accents. I love the fresh, bold punch geometrics can bring to a room and how fun and easy it is to create different patterns. I also like a little bit of gold with everything, so the two seemed like a perfect match. This, in a nutshell, was how the Geometric Decor workshop was born!
Creating this workshop, I was inspired by everything from garlands, to artwork to throw rugs. You can check out some of my inspiration on our workshop Pinterest board.
I was also inspired by some of my favorite Paper Source geometric products!
The Geometric Decor workshop is on Thursday, April 24th, from 6 – 8 p.m. and is going to be a fun night with refreshments and creativity! After taking the class, you’ll walk away with a dimensional prism mobile that looks great hanging on a wall or suspended from the ceiling. You’ll also tap your inner artist to create an 8″ x 10″ piece of art – you get to customize it by picking your palette (Mint or Fuchsia) and pattern (3 choices available). And you will also come away with a geometric embossed stationery set.
Throughout it all you’ll get DIY instructions and templates to help you recreate each item at home, along with tips and inspiration to utilize the techniques in other projects! Find a location near you and join us in the fun!

The finished 18 1/2″ x 25″ sheets are perfect for gift wrapping, book binding, or card making. In addition, you will also make a small swatch book collection to recall the folding and dying techniques learned during the workshop.
March 23 – Chevron Tray with Paper Vessels Workshop
Learn box making techniques to create this contemporary gold chevron patterned tray. The workshop will teach you how to glue book board, along with wrapping tips for fine and decorative papers. We will also review uses of PVA & Methyl cellulose adhesives and tricks for cutting papers. To complete the collection, we’ll create DIY accents to accompany your finished tray. Perfect for gifting this Mother’s Day or to keep for your own home decor.

In grad school I fell in love with the rich colors and layered textures of mono-prints, so you can imagine my thrill when I discovered the Letterpress Machine Combo Kit can recreate these luscious prints. Using the components of the kit, plus a few extra ink colors, rubber stamp resists and accents, I printed on our wonderful collection of papers. It took only a few minutes to create dramatic results!
Learn some of these wonderful techniques at our upcoming workshop.
You’ll love the results and the versatility this machine offers for artistic endeavors, not to mention the opportunity to learn how to stitch simple booklets.
