Emma, Paper Source photographer and resident British lass, could not bear the thought of letting the Diamond Jubliee go unnoticed, so she and her bloke whipped up some English treats to make sure our celebration was fit for a Queen.

Her spread (and weekend tenacity) was too delightful not to share.

British scones
Scones with jam and clotted cream adorned with handmade treat toppers featuring Corgis, the Union Jack and photos of the Queen.

Butterfly Fairy Buns
Butterfly Fairy Buns adorned with more treat toppers and a coordinating place card!

Cherry Bakewell Slice
The Queen is so sweet. Why not adorn Cherry Bakewell Slices with photos from her coronation in 1952.

Victoria Sponge Cake
The Queen waves hello from atop this delicious Victoria Sponge Cake.

Jubilee Accents

Meanwhile, Corgis, British Soldiers and the Duke keep watch over this confection.

Emma’s gingham backdrop and festive accents had us all fancying a little bit of action from across the pond. So, we created a Diamond Jubilee Pinterest Board to keep the spirit alive.

Cheerio!

Everything looked scrumptious. The scones with jam (raspberry I hope)and clotted cream made me wish I was there.

It all looks delicious. Recipes, please! … I remember watching the Queen’s coronation on black and white TV here in the states in 1952. NBC shuttled film from London to New York all day long, and with the 5-hour time difference and extended flying time, we were seeing the events unfold at nearly the same time of day as they had occurred. What fun!
