Make Your Own Rubber Stamps
If you’ve ever had trouble finding just the right rubber stamp or if you’ve wanted to create a custom rubber stamp for a wedding or special event, consider making your own rubber stamps! This month we’re running a Carve Your Own Stamps workshop at all of our stores. We’ll take you through the start to finish process from creating an original drawing to carving your rubber stamp design. You’ll leave the workshop with a kit and the know-how to make plenty more custom rubber stamps at home. I really like the joy stamp. I carved a straight line block for using in my journals. http://burdart.blogspot.com/2009/05/handcarved-stamp-for-straight-gasp-text.html It comes in handy when I want my pages to be a little neater.

  2. This is really nice. Great way to make holiday cards as well.

I love the “organic” look of a hand carved stamp.

I just took this workshop in Bellevue, and it was so much fun!

Wow! So glad you are all enjoying my hand carved “JoY” stamp.

Yep, with this one I was trying to think of something universally appealing that would both inspire people to try our workshop (to see for themselves how easy, fun and addicting these are to make) while demonstrating how to incorporate text. It was fun to create a bottle of joy to carry into the season. I have a few more bottles, “peace” in a long narrow tube, and “truth” in short squatty bottle – these create a wonderful collection…great alone, or when they are all stamped together they look like a cool apothecary.

I’d love to see what you’ve come up with, please share some of your own creations.

    Cheers,
    Linda
