I’ll admit there’s some pressure when you’re giving a gift to a fellow Paper Source employee – they know the products and secrets all too well. We recently threw a baby shower for our lovely and talented coworker who is having her first baby, and I put together a gift basket on behalf of the group. Filled with all kinds of special baby goodies tied individually with satin ribbons, the basket came together nicely…but I wasn’t quite satisfied.
Though full to the brim, the basket itself was lacking so I added a banner strung across the front with miniature paper animals secured to a ribbon with tiny wooden clothes pins. Irresistible and easy, I promise. I cut out the animals from sketch drawings I did on the back of our dots gift wrap keeping the silhouettes simple and rounded. If animal shapes seem too detailed for you try cutting triangles for a pennant banner instead. This extra special detail made the gift one to remember.
p.s. We are so excited to announce the birth of Molly – congratulations to new mom, Carolyn!

This is such a sweet and oh so adorable gift. I bet Carolyn LOVED it!
Absolutely DARLING!!!
Hi! I love your blog and have been following it through rss feed, but I think it’s kinda hard to read the updates on my reader because the postings are not shown in complete. Is there any way for you to configure it so it can be read in full?
What a great basket. And that sweater is adorable. Is that Carters?
Wow! I absolutely love it! Can I get you to host a baby shower for me? Ha! It is my second child so I know that won’t happen 🙁 But maybe I can send this post and drop a hint to my husband…a family baby shower isn’t a bad thing, is it?
Beautiful presentation! Love the animal garland on the front of the basket! Gorgeous!
Super cute gift. I found a really useful gift for a baby gift , it’s a book called Dear Baby, What I love about you! (by Carol Casey) and it’s filled with objects from Baby’s everyday life that turn into a point-and-name game as baby turns into a toddler. It’s the first book in a series of FUN and CHEERFUL stories. This economy has been challenging to so many families. It’s more important than ever to have warm and nurturing stories to bond with our babies and toddlers.
I can’t wait to get the other books.
That is such an adorable gift! I’m definitely going to use the idea for my next shower!
Congratulations Carolyn on baby Molly!!!!!
I love this basket! It’s so precious. Cuter than a diaper cake! Thanks for sharing.

Love this basket, so simple yet so effective. Absolutely Sweetly Sweet! Right now I am triying to think how I can incorporate something like that in my daughter’s second birthday. It is a cupcake theme, so maybe I can give it a little twist and think of something. If I do think of something I will write about it in my blog. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the basket! I think I might need to copy this for upcoming baby shower gifts!!
Very cute. The beautiful Paper Source ribbons really make it!
